Tourism Impact on Air Pollution in Developed and Developing Countries
author
Abstract:
T he main purpose of this paper is to investigate and compare the impact of tourism on air pollution in selected developed and developing countries during the period of 1995-2014. To this end, at first, the model was designed based on the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) assumptions and with the presence of the major influencing factors on air pollution along with the international tourism variable. Then, the long-run relationship between these variables was estimated by the Continuously-updated and Fully-Modified (CUP-FM) method, considering the existence of a cross-sectional dependence between the model variables in both groups of studied countries. The results of this study indicate the positive impact of international tourism on air pollution in selected developing countries; while the expansion of international tourism reduces air pollution in studied developed countries.

Indoor air pollution in developing countries.
Of the four principal categories of indoor pollution (combustion products, chemicals, radon and biologicals), research in developing countries has focused on combustion-generated pollutants, and principally those from solid-fuel-fired cooking and heating stoves. Such stoves are used in more than half the world's households and have been shown in many locations to produce high indoor concentrati...
full textLocal Air Pollution in Fast Developing Countries
The non-linear chemistry, responsible for ozone formation poses problems in developing an optimized abatement strategy. Estimates of emissions are often quite uncertain, e.g. in estimates of biogenic emissions and car emissions. Effective abatement should be based on a careful evaluation of local conditions regarding oxidant formation. Some control strategies are effective in one place, but not...
full textthe impact of some economic factors affecting groundwater pollution in both developed and developing countries
introduction: the role of economic factors in pollution and environmental degradation is one of the major issues in economic and environmental studies that many researchers have addressed in their studies. one of the issues in the field of environment to which less attention has been paid is the effect of economic factors such as the openness of the economy on water resource pollution. in this ...
full textEvaluation the Impact of Government Size on Economic Growth: A Comparison of Developed and Developing Countries
Due to the importance of the government size impact on economic growth, the current study investigates the impact of government size on economic growth in economies of the developed and developing countries by using a panel data approach over the period 1990-2010. The results indicate that government size has positive effect on economic growth and negative effect on per capita production growth...
full textThe impact of exchange rate on economic growth under different exchange rate regimes (in selected countries developed and developing)
This paper examines the role of different exchange rate regimes on relationship between exchange rate volatility and economic growth. To investigate this relationship, information of 53 countries with floating and fixed exchange rate regimes in the period of 1987-2016 are considered. GARCH technique is used to estimate exchange rate volatility and Difference GMM technique for estimating the mo...
full textHealth Effects of Ambient Air Pollution in Developing Countries
The deleterious effects of ambient air pollution on human health have been consistently documented by many epidemiologic studies worldwide, and it has been calculated that globally at least seven million deaths are annually attributable to the effects of air pollution. The major air pollutants emitted into the atmosphere by a number of natural processes and human activities include nitrogen oxi...
